Goodness and Light Friday

Winterizing today and preparing for Goodness and Light Friday at Diggin'It...no Black Friday for us.  Lot's of new cool merchandise in....Eco t-shirts made from organic cotton and bamboo, soft as butter....hemp bags and purses...mala beads...peace earrings...tie-dyed hoodies...peace sign stockings and lot's of fun and funky stuff.  Josh will be doing Reiki on Friday and Saturday call for appointment.  469-952-3446

If you did - did you also have the color wheel - Now that was a classy accent piece! If you had the tree and the color wheel... for sure your home was voted as "THE HOUSE"  best dressed for Santa's arrival!  If you did not have one when you were a child .. I have one for you! PaNsies, ViolAs, puPcaKes and YarD ArT OH mY!!

 We had pupcakes yesterday compliments of Canine Cookie Co...  Brody turned ONE...hard to believe the Diggin 'It dog is already a year old.   A new shipment of fun and funky yard art and a great selection of pansies, violas and bulbs are coming in today.  

Need A gIRl's DaY OuT!! Shopping and FUN!!

The annual Huge Holiday Bazaar, hosted by McKinney ISD Partners In Education, is this year's one-stop shop for great gifts for the holiday season. 

The Huge Holiday Bazaar will be held on Saturday, November 6 at Evans Middle School (6998 W. Eldorado Pkwy.) in McKinney. All proceeds from the event will go to support McKinney ISD volunteers, REACH mentoring program, student services, Rachel's Challenge, and Project Graduation. There will also be two teacher drawings for an Apple iPad.

"We're anticipating close to 100 vendors (I am one of the 100), some of which are from out of state," said Nancy Cowlishaw, Partners In Education Specialist. "Our vendors have an array of crafts, home decor, unique gift items, trendy clothing, jewelry, and collectibles. Last year was a huge success and we look forward to another successful year."

Look for the funky and super cool DIGGIN' IT goods!

Groovy MCKINNEY Shop

“DIGGIN IT”,   a new shop on North Tennessee Street in historic McKinney has vintage garden items and plants for sale. Tracey, the owner is a member of the MCKINNEY GARDEN CLUB. Members and guests of the Garden Club met at the shop for their October meeting.  Tracey has a partly shaded patio that is great for events.  Guest speaker Al Nickerson presented a program “Lasagna Gardening”

Some of the interesting items that caught my attention inside the shop were vintage parasols.  A stone rabbit went home with me. Flats of pansies and violas and some hard to find plants in four inch containers were on the patio. Shop and patio Decorations included large pots of blooming chrysanthemums and all kinds of pumpkins.

INTO MY GARDEN, contributed great food and several cute table decorations.  Garden club hostesses provided beverages, organized and “hostessed” the event. Treasurer, Larry Tunnell held a raffle for T shirts donated by “ DIGGIN IT’

 Second  co vice president, Nancy Davies enjoyed the ancient prayer sheets hanging in a row on a line. In attendance were too many notable local members and gardeners to mention  all of them in this article. Whether you enjoy diggin in the dirt or just browsing you will find Tracey’s shop is “groovy”.Posted by Donna Darling ,S

Today Diggin' It hosted the McKinney Garden Club for their monthly meeting.   Sharing a few  pictures of the day event!

McKinney Garden Club at Diggin' It!!!

Tuesday will be a big day at Diggin' It, as we are hosting the McKinney Garden Club October meeting.  The speaker will be AL Nickerson my organic go- to guy.  He will be talking about the wonders of lasagna gardening ...he harvested 150lbs of tomatoes from 10 plants this summer using this layering technique.  He is bringing earthworm bins loaded with worms for sale.  Pansies, violas and mums are in and ready for you to get diggin!!!!

Henna tatts ( our trademark)...a real life bee keeper with an observation hive...an expert on organics..an expert on life(that's me)...new t-shirts- new colors...several different artist demos...lots of antiques and just plain junk, art junk, cool junk, fresh junk, funky junk...junk food and some junk in the trunk junk.  We are dog/kid friendly and don't forget you can ride your bike...I have a bike rack!!! Come see me. My hours are 10ish...ok more like 10:30- to 5...ish. See you soon!!

Finally got a current picture up!!! Have a new shipment of cool stuff on it's way. Found the wonderful peace signs made from the tops of vintage barrels...colorful pottery...fall plants have started to arrive... snapdragons, cabbage and kale...and more of that incredible soap. Sold out of the patchouli again...will order lots more this time.

Thank you, thank you, thank you...to everyone for making my first month so incredible. I am diggin' meeting so many new people and listening to stories about the bus/gas station. Come check out the new selection of funky stuff I got in...recycled rice bag purses...a variety of Tibetan prayer flags and lots of new incense scents.
